“So, why do I keep sending my kid back to Club Engage (hosted at St Anne's Primary) … She smells like summer when I fetch her. She smells like sunshine, and play, and happiness. And after sulking because it's time to go home, she bubbles with excitement to tell me about the fun experiments or new thing she learnt that day. And in her own words, "Club Engage is like school but much more fun. We play a bit in the morning, then we go inside and learn something, then we have a break to play, then we learn some more and then we have another break for lunch and after that we finish our experiment and then we play. It's so much fun mommy. And we learning but the lessons are like games." And that is why I'll continue sending her to Club Engage. In today's world, where streaming and tiktok and online gaming has become so entwined in our daily lives, I love that she's playing and having fun and getting a glimpse of the childhood I had. The programme is varied with different themes each day and run by people (leaders) who have a background in education.
